I had to put this up for Volek and Hale, especially after reading Volek’s post.  There’s a shorter highlight on Youtube, but this one is worth watching.  Listen to how loud the crowd is when Pittsburgh ties it with around a minute left.  Then listen to the absolute silence when Volek scores the winner.  It’s stunning.

No seriously.  The East is tighter than you think.  The Capitals, if they win their game-in-hand on Carolina, would be three points behind the Hurricanes.  After the jump, how tight is it?  Glad you asked…
