James Norris doesn’t sleep…he waits.
The James Norris Memorial Trophy is awarded to the “top defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-around ability in the position.” However, we all know that’s not true. The award is based much more on offense, as evidenced by some of the player who never won the award. This year’s finalists are Nicklas Lidstrom, Zdeno Chara, and Dion Phaneuf. After the jump, I’ll break down the candidates.
